Heimdall

Heimdall, silent and wise
Always thinking, rarely speaking
What You know is true and right
Waiting for the proper time to
Say what we need to hear
When we are ready to listen

If we take the time to listen
To You and not just to ourselves
We’ll hear the wisdom of the gods
We must listen to Your wisdom and
Wait for Your divine advice so wise
Not confident in ourselves alone

Heimdall, You alone are called holy
Your deeds are greater than our words
While your words are few but ever mighty
As You defend Asgard defend us too we ask
In both word and deed, we ask, as You
Alone guard Bifrost from evil ways

As You alone know how to retrieve
Our Asa Thorr’s hammer as well as
Retaining Our Lady Freyja’s honor
Help us also to maintain our strength and
Honor when we’re also in such need of
Your wisdom and might so sublime

Heimdall, son of the waves, we call You Rig
Watch over and guard us, Your children, as You
Watch over and guard Asgard from Bifrost bridge
Support us in our quest for wisdom and as we flee from evil
Through Your gjallahorn, O Rig, hear our plea
