Elusive Lesson

Here today

Gone tomorrow

We put such stock in

What brings such sorrow

We obtain what we want

Then hold it so tight

And we’re all broken up

When it fades from our sight

We spend our whole lives

Fighting tooth and nail

To achieve all we want

And then watch it fail

Again and again

We’ll try and we’ll try

But still never learn

Till after we die

Free To Be Them

So many believe it better

To be inferior and applauded

Than superior and anonymous

Tis better to be wrong in a crowd

Than be correct alone.

The non conformist merely

Conforms to a different standard,

Smaller, yet a crowd just the same.

For freedom is abhorrent

It demands accountability

Imitation is the sincerest form

Of unoriginality.

A P&L Statement

Nobody cares if you’re down and out.

Nobody cares if you’re successful either.

Unless they can benefit somehow.

Future Pasts

If not for Man’s lack of

Historical understanding

We might very well question

Much more than we do.

Equality

The unequal want equality

The equal want superiority

The superior insist

We’re all really equal

Equality is only a step upon

The ladder to superiority.

Same Difference

When children do it

It’s called peer pressure.

When adults do it

It’s keeping up with the Jones’.

Lemming is a lemming.

Adults will deny it.

Children see through it.

We eventually grow up

While never outgrowing.

Anima

Find the Feminine as she is

Not as she appears

Seek the Feminine as she is

Not as we want her to be

Look into the Feminine

Not as we would look at her

Allow her to reveal herself

Not impose upon her

What we want or expect

The Feminine is light and dark

And all shades in between

To observe is to understand

To accept only what we expect

To accept only what we demand

Is to limit our understanding

If we understand at all

The Anima reveals its essence

If only we will allow it

The Anima.  Unadorned.  Naked.  Unconcealed.

Revealed as she truly is

Complex but not complicated

That is what we seek

What we journey to appreciate

Understand and love.
